Event Rater Q&A with Sion Bennett

Sion Bennett (Twitter: @SionBennett) plays in the backrow for the Cardiff Blues. Having initially started his rugby career at the Carmarthen Quins and the Scarlets, Sion has also represented Wales on the Sevens circuit and was also part of the Wales U20's squad who were runners-up in the 2013 Junior World Championship, narrowly losing out to England in the final. In 2015 he joined Northampton Saints and then moved on loan to Cardiff Blues during the second half of the 2016/17 campaign as injury cover, crossing for three tries during his debut campaign and earned himself a long-term contract. To date, Sion has played 16 times for the Cardiff Blues and has scored 15 points.

Sion tells us about his event interests:

Q: What types of events do you usually attend?

A: A massive range really but over the last few years I’ve told myself I want to go to more music gigs so that’s my aim at the moment.

Q: What is the best artist/group you have ever seen live?

A: Seeing Red Hot Chili Peppers was always a dream of mine and they didn’t disappoint!

Q: Who are your favourite stand-up comedians?

A: Ricky Gervais and Kevin Hart

Q: Which sports do you enjoy seeing live? (apart from rugby!)

A: Some 20/20 cricket is always good and a good football match!

Q: What is your favourite venue?

A: Cliché but have to say the Millennium Stadium

Q: What type of theatre events do you usually attend? (e.g. drama, musicals, opera) / Which show is your all-time favourite production?

A: Really enjoyed the Book of Mormon but by far the best I’ve seen was the play Amadeus in the National Theatre. Would highly recommend.

Q: Who would be your three dream headline acts to perform at a festival?

A: Red Hot Chili Peppers, 50 Cent and Tiesto

Q: Are there any events/artists that you would like to see that you haven't yet seen?

A: Two things I really wanted to see was Pete Tong with a live Orchestra and 50 cent and I’m going to see both in the next few months so can’t wait.
