Event Rater Q&A with Jonathan Jiffy Davies

Jonathan Davies, OBE aka Jiffy (Twitter: @JiffyRugby / Instagram @JiffyRugby) was born in Trimsaran, Carmarthenshire. He is a former Welsh rugby player having played in the 1980s and 1990s. He represented Wales in both rugby union and rugby league and played his club rugby in Wales, England and Australia. Since his playing days, he has become a television commentator for both codes and a media personality in both Welsh and English. Jonathan presents his own chat show on S4C alongside referee Nigel Owens and presenter Sarra Elgan.


Jonathan is also President of the Velindre Cancer Centre charity and has raised a huge amount of money for the hospital over many years. He is also an ACT Skills Ambassador.


Jonathan tells us about his event interests:


Q: What types of events do you usually attend?

A: Anything really from corporate events to charity events. Social, golf, sporting and pop concert or music festival. 


Q: What is the best artist/group you have ever seen live?

A: Been lucky seen Michael Jackson Tina Turner U2 Stereophonics my favourites are Coldplay and Rolling Stones. Beyoncé was great.


Q: Who are your favourite stand-up comedians?

A: Sean Lock, Micky Flanagan, Ricky Gervais, Russell Kane, Romesh Ranganathan


Q: Which sports do you enjoy seeing live? (apart from rugby!)

A: Love all sports but Wimbledon great.


Q: What is your favourite venue?

A: Principality Stadium 


Q: What type of theatre events do you usually attend? (e.g. drama, musicals, opera) / Which show is your all-time favourite production? 

A: Comedians or musicals. 


Q: Who would be your three dream headline acts to perform at a festival?

A: Queen, Police, Rolling Stones.


Q: Are there any events/artists that you would like to see that you haven't yet seen?

A: Fleetwood Mac. World boxing title fight. Super Bowl.
