Event Rater Q&A with Jarrod Evans

Jarrod Evans (Twitter: @jaaaarod / Instagram: @jarrodevans10) is a Welsh international rugby player who plays his club rugby for Cardiff Blues. To date, the fly-half has won 1 Wales cap and has made 60 appearances for the Cardiff Blues, scoring 283 points. 


He has been capped by Wales at Under-18 level and made his senior debut for Pontypridd when aged just 17 in 2013. Evans was part of the Wales Under-20 squad that took part in the Junior World Championships in the summer of 2015 in Italy. 


At the end of the 2017/18 season where he was a key figure as Cardiff Blues lifted the Challenge Cup in Bilbao, he was also named the region’s Discovery of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year.

Jarrod tells us about his event interests:


Q: What types of events do you usually attend?

A: I usually go to events like concerts or the odd show 


Q: What is the best artist/group you have ever seen live?

A: Stereophonics were pretty good. Example and Calvin Harris I’ve also seen live which I liked.


Q: Who are your favourite stand-up comedians?

A: I’ve always enjoyed Lee Evans but never got to see him live but yeah I like watching his shows on TV and stuff. 


Q: Which sports do you enjoy seeing live? (apart from rugby!)

A: I’m a big football fan so I’d probably go with that. I’ve always been a rugby/football lad being from South Wales their the two main sports people enjoy


Q: What is your favourite venue?

A: Old Trafford


Q: What type of theatre events do you usually attend? (e.g. drama, musicals, opera) / Which show is your all-time favorite production? 

A: I attend more drama and dance shows. More a local one for me but I watch a group called dimensions dance academy which is headed up by Bridie Smith which are doing a fantastic job 


Q: Who would be your three dream headline acts to perform at a festival?

A: Chris Brown, Drake, Usher would be good too 


Q: Are there any events/artists that you would like to see that you haven't yet seen?

A: Chris Brown and Drake would the main two I’d like to see
